Automate your processes and build secure AI agents

An assistant suggests. An AI agent acts. One day to build your automations and agents on a safe foundation: break the process down before you automate, specify before you execute, keep humans in the loop.

1 day, 7 hours In person, remote or hybrid IT and development
A person closes a chain of links on a table into a continuous loop, one hand kept within reach

This training is designed for:

The operations manager

They want to systematize cross-team workflows without tying up a developer.

The project manager and the product owner

They run automation projects and have to decide what can be handed to an agent.

The AI lead

They lead the change in their organization and need to set up a trust framework.

Automate your processes and build secure AI agents

Learning objectives

The learning objectives of this training can be assessed. By the end of the session, each participant is able to:

  • Tell apart simple automation, AI automation, AI assistants and AI agents, and choose the right building block for a given process
  • Break a business process down into elementary tasks with Paul Leonardi's STEP method, and sort those tasks as non-automatable, augmentable or automatable
  • Identify the internal and external risks of AI agents, link them to the applicable GDPR and AI Act obligations, and write up a trust framework that sets human stop points and the shutdown procedure
  • Spot the 5 pillars of an agent (context, instructions, memory, tools, model) on a working agent in n8n, run it and diagnose a configuration error from its execution log
  • Write an agent's instructions in SOP format, covering the role, expected inputs, steps, decision criteria, escalation cases and output format
  • Build an AI agent in n8n in 4 milestones, from trigger to decision logic, connected to your business tools on the principle of least privilege, with human approval before any action a third party can see
  • Build a 30-day action plan covering the rollout of the agent you built, the next 2 automations and measurable tracking indicators

Audience and prerequisites

Audience. Ops, IT, Data and Process roles, project managers, AI leads.

Prerequisites. Hands-on experience in an Ops, IT or project management role, 2 years recommended. Already using generative AI for about 10 work tasks. Comfortable with digital tools.

Each participant's actual level is checked before the session with a placement questionnaire, which is used to adjust the outline.

Program

The full outline, sequence by sequence, is in the detailed program you receive before registering.

Take on board the data use rule that applies throughout the day and check your technical setup. Locate the 4 available building blocks (simple automation, AI automation, AI assistant, AI agent) on a working agent and choose the one that meets a given need.
Break the chosen process down into elementary tasks and sort them with the STEP method. Identify the internal and external risks attached to this process and link them to the applicable GDPR and AI Act obligations.
Spot the 5 pillars of an AI agent (context, instructions, memory, tools, model) on a working agent, node by node. Open an existing agent in your n8n workspace, run it, read its execution log and fix a configuration error.
Design your agent's target architecture and break it into 4 build milestones, each with its success criterion. Configure your agent's trigger, context and memory in n8n.
Present the agent you built and justify your architecture choices to the trainer. Write up a measurable 30-day action plan that includes the conditions for putting the agent into service.

Teaching methods and resources

The training combines demonstrations with commentary, guided workshops and hands-on work on the participants' real cases. Theory is limited to what you need to put things into practice.

  • A practitioner trainer who works on the subjects taught
  • Course materials for each participant
  • Each participant works on their own computer, with their own files
  • Environment set up in advance and tested before the session

In person

The training takes place at the client's premises. The client provides a room with a projector or screen, an internet connection and a computer for each participant.

Remote

The training runs as a live virtual classroom, in a group with the trainer, on a fixed schedule. Participants interact by voice, screen sharing and chat, in both directions and throughout the session. Each participant's connection is logged and serves as the attendance record. Technical support is available by email and phone for the whole session, and a connection test is offered ahead of the day.

Hybrid

A single session can bring together on-site and remote participants. The trainer leads from the in-person venue, and remote participants follow in the virtual classroom with the same individual support and the same deliverables.

Assessment and certification

  • Placement questionnaire before the training starts
  • Continuous assessment through the exercises completed during the session
  • Final assessment of learning against the objectives listed above
  • Satisfaction questionnaire at the end of the session, then again a few weeks later

The training leads to an end-of-training certificate stating the objectives and the assessment results, and to a certificate of completion sent to the funder where applicable.

I have the pleasure of working with Jessy as an AI consultant. Custom training, automation projects, AI assistants, RAG: he has built solid skills and a rare ability to make complex concepts accessible. Technical excellence and human qualities in one person. I highly recommend him.

Questions?

Jessy Martin Academy is a registered training provider [a training organization declared to the French State], so your company can charge the cost to its skills development plan [the training budget a French employer manages for its staff]. Funding from an OPCO [French skills operator that funds employee training] also requires Qualiopi [France's quality certification for training providers] certification, which we are currently preparing. We will tell you where we stand during the scoping call.
The lead time is set with you during the scoping call and written into the training agreement [the contract French law requires between the provider and the client]. It depends on the participants' availability and on the funding route, since external funding always takes longer.
Yes, and that is the most common case. The needs analysis and the participants' placement assessment always come before the session, and the outline adjusts accordingly. If your needs are far removed from this program, we build a dedicated course.
An active n8n workspace, cloud or self-hosted, created before the training starts. Access to a language model that can be called from n8n, such as an Anthropic API key or equivalent, paid for by the trainee or their company. And access to at least 2 connectable business tools, with the rights needed to authorize a connection.
Let us know in our first conversation. Together we look at adjustments to materials, pace, duration, assessment or access to the premises. Disability lead: Jessy Martin, contact@jessem.fr.
